Nueces de Catamarca Plans for International Growth and Moves Forward with Production Renewal

Nueces de Catamarca projects its international growth and moves forward with its productive renewal strategy.

Growing Production and Long-Term Planning

In the midst of the harvesting season, Nueces de Catamarca is consolidating its production development with a projected output of 450 tons by 2026. This growth is the result of sustained work in the plantations that are currently between 23 and 24 years old, a stage that requires strategic decisions to ensure their future yield.

In this regard, the company is moving forward with a renewal process through pruning practices, which are essential for revitalizing the walnut trees. This will result in a decrease in production during 2026 and 2027, but will allow for a significant increase as from 2028.

With a long-term vision, the company’s production goal is to reach 800 tons, strengthening its position in the walnut sector.

International Certification and Expansion into New Markets

As part of its quality and expansion strategy, Nueces de Catamarca continues to operate in accordance with international standards, having successfully gotten its GlobalG.A.P. certification in 2026.

“This process will enable us to move forward with our expansion into new markets and secure our entry into the German market,” explains Cesar Tello, the company’s Head of Production.

Currently, the company seeks to consolidate its presence in Brazil and expand into new markets, such as Italy, in line with a commercial diversification strategy aimed at strengthening its international footprint.

A Competitive Global Market

The development of Nueces de Catamarca is taking place in a highly competitive global context. Argentina produces between 21,000 and 22,000 tons of walnuts every year, which is far below the major market players, such as China, which produces approximately 1,800,000 tons, and Chile, with a projected output of 170,000 tons for this year.

In this context, differentiation through quality, certification, and expansion into new markets is key to the sector’s growth.

Team Building and Organizational Growth

The company’s growth is also reflected in the strengthening of its workforce. In 2026, a young professional will join the team to bolster the packing and administrative departments, supporting the process of professionalization and continuous improvement.

With a comprehensive strategy that combines production, quality, and commercial expansion, Nueces de Catamarca is positioned to take a new leap forward in its development, with a focus on international markets and the sustainability of its production system.
